At Simply Smile, we make every effort to provide same-day treatment whenever possible. However, this is determined on a case-by-case basis, as some patients may require antibiotics or additional preparation before treatment. Rest assured, if we can treat you the same day, we absolutely will!

New patient appointments typically last approximately 80 minutes. This allows us enough time to thoroughly review your medical history, address any concerns, take necessary X-rays, and complete comprehensive new patient charting. This process enables us to develop an accurate treatment plan and determine the type of cleaning you will need.

In most cases, yes. However, if you have gum issues or significant tartar buildup, you may require a more extensive cleaning that cannot be completed in a single visit. In such instances, we will begin the cleaning process if time permits and schedule a follow-up appointment to complete the treatment. The plan is always customized to your individual needs.

X-rays are essential for providing a thorough and accurate diagnosis. While a clinical exam allows us to evaluate the visible surfaces of your teeth, X-rays reveal what we cannot see—such as cavities between teeth, bone loss, or hidden dental issues. Without current X-rays, it would be impossible to give you a complete and confident oral health assessment.

While we respect your right to make decisions about your dental care, X-rays are a vital diagnostic tool. Without them, Dr. Hogan cannot accurately detect or diagnose certain conditions, which could compromise your care. We take only the minimum necessary X-rays to ensure your health and safety. If you have concerns, we are happy to discuss them with you. However, if you are uncomfortable with receiving X-rays, you may wish to seek treatment with another provider, as we cannot compromise on the quality of our care.

Don’t worry—it’s a common occurrence! Temporary crowns are designed to protect your tooth and hold space while awaiting your permanent crown. If your temporary crown comes off, please contact our office, and we will arrange to have it re-cemented or replaced. In the meantime, if the crown is intact, you can place a small amount of toothpaste or petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline) inside it and gently place it back over the tooth. This will help hold it in place until you can visit us.

Yes! In most cases, patients with even significantly misaligned teeth can be successfully treated with Invisalign. However, there are some complex cases where traditional braces may be more effective.
