Cosmetic and Therapeutic Botox

YES! Dentists can do BOTOX! Who better than someone who actually stares at faces ALL day long!

With botox you don’t have to think of frozen faces and eyebrows that reach to the Heavens. It is actually a phenomenal tool for temporomandibular joint relief and migraine relief as well.

Botox is a purified protein that can be used to soften the muscles full movement. With botox you are slowing down muscles ability to fully contract which reduces the formation of wrinkles.

That means, whether you want it for cosmetic purposes or for migraine or joint relief, we can help!

Botox for Cosmetic

Botox is a great way to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles by just reducing how much the muscles can move that cause those annoying wrinkles.

It is not uncommon for Botox to be used in conjunction with other treatment like crowns and veneers to enhance the overall smile of a person.

When doing botox for cosmetic purposes, Dr. Hogan will want to first do a consultation to see what areas you want to target. At that appointment, if is great to bring in any pictures or information that will help us ensure that we get you the look you want to achieve.

Botox for Migraines and TMJ

Botox is a great tool for relieving migraines or for tmj discomfort.

When botox is used for tmj, it is injected directly into the masseter muscles. This is the large muscle you can feel by palpating the jaw below the ear and gritting your teeth together.

This muscle often becomes extremely overworked and can cause significant headaches and discomfort when eating. In this case, botox is administered into the masseter muscle, reducing the ability to fully contract which reduces the fatigue and discomfort.

It is not uncommon for more units to be administered at your follow up appointment. This is because some people use this muscle in excess more than someone else and the treatment will need to be tailored to meet your specific needs.

Once we have reached the amount that works best for you, maintenance will be every 3-4 months depending on symptoms.

As a dentist, it is my top priority to enhance your smile and to make you look like a more refreshed version of yourself. Botox is a wonderful way to do that when administered correctly.

At Simply Smile, I want you to look like YOU! Not frozen, just refreshed! Keep a look out for our weekly specials for botox! Wrinkle Free Wednesdays, Fabulous Face Fridays to come!

Can I Get Botox on the First Appointment?

Yes, if you are a good candidate then following the evaluation we can do a treatment.

This may be a partial treatment or a full treatment depending on your needs. You may also be required to return for a follow-up appointment 2 weeks after treatment to look at the area and to determine if you need additional units.
