What is a Full Denture?

A full denture is a type of denture is used when all of your top or bottom teeth are missing because there are no other existing teeth to help the denture stay in place.

Instead, full dentures are held in place by suction and the natural contours of your jaw and gums. This is why dentures are custom-made to fit your mouth.

With a complete denture, you may need additional appointments to ensure that accurate fit, shade, shape and position of the teeth are to your liking.

What About a Partial Denture?

This is a type of denture that uses your existing teeth to help it stay in place.

The framework that holds the teeth fits around your existing teeth using things like clasps for retention. This is what helps the denture stay in place while you are eating and talking.

Similar to a complete denture, partial dentures are tailor fit to your dental anatomy. So, they may require additional appointments to ensure that accurate fit, shade, shape and position of the teeth are to your liking.
